Helping you shoot for the moon

Converting your site to WordPress

If you love your current site, but would like to be able to update it yourself, then this is the option for you. We'll keep your existing design and content, but I'll add WordPress, so that you can make your own changes and edits without needing to know any code. (More about WordPress)

How much does it cost?

The short answer: prices start at about £400.

The long answer: it will depend on how long it will take me to convert your site, which of course depends how easy it will be! The easiest sites are those where the basic design (header, footer, look and feel, and the layout of the pages) are the same on every page. If different pages have different designs, then it'll take me longer.

If you send me a link to your site, I'll take a look and give you a quote. There's a form at the bottom of the page that you can use to request a quote.

My site has a forum / a shopping cart / a directory

This is when things get trickier!  There are many plugins for WordPress, including forum, directory and shopping cart plugins, they may not do exactly the same stuff that your old one did, or it may difficult to transfer your data. But still, feel free to send me a link, and I'll have a look and let you know if it's doable.

What about blogs?

Yep – most blogs can be converted to WordPress, with a little fiddling. As an example, I recently converted Shannon Wilkinson's site and blog from TextPattern to WordPress.

Can we make some improvements while we're converting?

Sure! Might as well do it all at once, right? Just let me know what you'd like to change, and I'll quote for that, too. Alternatively, if you fancy a complete redesign, then you might like to look at bespoke design.

I'd like a quote!

Splendid! Here's a form for that:
